Wim file is then imported into MDT and then re-deployed out to multiple devices, hassle free. Unfortunately the Serial Key for VNC Server doesn't capture/deploy out to the other devices. Yet all other software license keys are transferred correctly and working fine.

TightVNC is a free remote desktop application. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

In this tutorial we are going to be looking at VNC, which is a cross-platform piece of software, which means it can run on a PC, Mac, Raspberry Pi, Android, IOS or Linux computers. VNC is free and open-source, so it will cost you nothing to use unless you want more advanced features.

One of the best VNC products from a company called RealVNC. They were founded by the inventors of VNC, and have made it available recently for the Raspberry Pi. While the basic VNC software is free, there are some additional features that require the purchase of a license, like encryption of the information between the server and viewer, better performance and support.

Before you can use RealVNC Server you must obtain a license key. They are free for private use, and can be obtained from the RealVNC license page. Once you have filled in the form you will see the license key, and it will be emailed to you. Use it to license your software by typing in the following on your Raspberry Pi:

You can of course continue to use RealVNC for free, forever! Within your own network at home this is okay and safe, but if you want to be able to access your Raspberry Pi over the internet, then you will need to use encryption to ensure that nobody else is able to intercept what you are seeing. For this you will need to obtain a 'Personal' license from RealVNC. This costs only 19 and is for life too, but well worth it if you want to use encryption, better performance, sharing printers and file transfer. To obtain the license, visit the RealVNC website.

From other pc, windows, start putty + xming app (x11 enabled) ssh to linux, login user, than start in console: vnclicensewiz, connect realvnc email+passwd than vnc passwd (2x), ok -> (need root passwd) work!

RealVNC server with license key is an enhanced version of industry-standard VNC that is developed for use in corporate environments and across the internet. You can view and interact with the computer desktop in real-time as it permits you to completely interact with the server PC from a distance and without physical contact with a simple viewer on another PC anywhere. It can also be run on the Java platform and Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad as well as Android devices. The powerful deployment strategies and lock-down deployments enable you to transfer files between PCs while controlling any number of remote computers simply and smoothly.

RealVNC 6 serial key is the cross-platform remote control software that supports the business and compliance objectives with audit and security functionality. It is a feature-rich, commanding, ultra-secure and flexible tool that permits numerous connections to the same computer in addition to enabling the collaborative working and delivers the safe and easy way to connect to the other computer with just a few simple steps with VNC viewer.

Use the links below to get started. All editions of RealVNC (Free, Personal, and Enterprise) are installed from the same download; features are unlocked using the appropriate license key. So, after downloading, you have to register your e-mail address to get a license key, even for the Free Edition.

TightVNC is free and runs on all current versions of Microsoft Windows, as well as UNIX and Linux. Apple Mac computers and mobile phones are not natively supported, although there is a Java version of TightVNC that can run on any system with the Java platform installed. TightVNC does not support encryption, remote printing, or chat, but it does support window scaling and file transfer. The project is supported by a Russian company named GlavSoft.

While formally still in beta, PuTTY is the most common SSH client for Windows. It also supports asynchronous communications, and is recommended by Microsoft as a replacement for HyperTerminal (which is no longer included with Windows). It has also been recommended by Cisco for connecting to Cisco security devices via SSH from a Windows-based computer. PuTTY was developed by Simon Tatham, and is available free for download on his personal website.

After installing RealVNC on a machine, you need to obtain a free license key from the product page. After receiving the license code, enter it in the pertaining field during configuration setup and click Next.

In November 2016, RealVNC released the updated version of their software, now called VNC Connect (version 6.0). The new version introduces a cloud connection option using a subscription-based pricing model. Users can choose between three subscription levels; Home (free for non-commercial use), Professional and Enterprise. Home and Professional subscriptions are cloud connections only. The Enterprise subscription supports hybrid connections that include the traditional direct (peer to peer) connections and/or cloud connections.[7]

The best part is that the user doesn't need to install or license any software. So there is no footprint of an installer; it's just a small, disposable app, which can be deleted when the session ends. Deletion of the app will leave no traces whatsoever on the system, so there are no potentially dangerous circumstances for the user.

The good news is that a partnership between RealVNC and Raspberry Pi exists. This grants you some special privileges on your Home license. Namely, you have access to both cloud and direct connections.

@Kewl there is no arm64 version of v6.7.4 as yet. The highest 64bit version is v6.7.2. Official Realvnc only produce a 32bit version currently. Raspberrypi.org have ported a 64bit version themselves thus why the upstream source for the 64bit version is -vnc/realvnc-vnc-server_6.7.2.43081_arm64.deb

I have modified the PKGBUILD to have a working realvnc server aarch64 version that has been tested on a Raspberry Pi4 8Gb with a vanilla ArchLinuxARM64 install: -server-aarch64-archlinuxarmIf you would like me to add this package to the AUR separately please let me know :)

To get started, download RealVNC to the computer you want to control, install it, and choose a license. Then, download VNC Viewer to the computer you wish to exercise control from. Note if you are connecting over the Internet, you may also need to configure your network.

Windows only (other platforms coming soon). Deploy, install, and license VNC on computers from a central location. Configure VNC from a management console (for example, to change authentication or encryption settings).

Fortunately, distribution rights do not apply for internal use. With any edition of Chocolatey (including the free open source edition), you can host your own packages and cache or internalize existing community packages.

Atleast in my use case, everything I needed was in zoom. I found SplashTop, which I was able to get a one year free trial for, without nearly any issues, contained integration with our ticketing system, and had a much better support staff. It also WORKS on mac and windows.

Wish it had a roll out tool for installing on multiple computers. The platform does go down from time to time and you can self fix it by moving your system to a different location yourself. There are issues with the license counter and many times it says I am out of licenses and we are unable to use the product when we still have license available not being used. Two support requests tickets have been sent and they never respond. Support is a hit and miss. Email support and they will not reply or respond so it is useless , Chat support is hit or miss depending on who you get but if you get the right person it is great. Sales is very disappointing I have been using the product for over a year and so many times I tried to contact sales by email and phone about buying other products the sales reps will never call you back or respond so I gave up and went with another vendor. The sales rep I was working with that was amazing when I started with the Connectwise no longer works there so I am just left floating out here. When I had issues with my license it was a nightmare and ended up costing me a bunch of money to fix I have to repay for my subscription I was already paid for. I gave up trying to resolve the issue paying for something that I already paid because my company was down I needed the product working so we can support our customers. I still have a balance on my account due that I do not owe from that nightmare. Its a good product but there are serious back office issues. 2ff7e9595c
